Natural, Relaxed Wedding Photography Across Kent

Alongside your rings (and your memories!), your wedding photographs are the things that last the longest after your wedding day. So naturally you want to make sure you find the right person for your special day.

So if you’re searching for a Kent wedding photographer who’ll make you feel completely at ease on your biggest day you’ve found him. I’m Colin Sherlock, based in Herne Bay, and I’ve been capturing weddings across Kent and beyond for years. My style is candid, fun, and full of emotion, i’m not about awkward posing or stiff group shots! Just real moments, genuinely captured.

Why Choose Colin Sherlock as Your Kent Wedding Photographer?

Your wedding photos will outlast the flowers, the cake, and the cheesy disco playlist. They’re the one thing you’ll look back on in 20 years and enjoy memories of the day. That’s a responsibility I take seriously but I also believe the process should be joyful and relaxed. You have enough to worry out in the lead up to your wedding day, photography shouldn’t be one.

Here’s what you get when you book me:

  • A photographer who blends in, I work quietly in the background, letting moments happen naturally while staying ready for every one of them.
  • Capturing genuine moments,  I’m not interested in factory line poses or stiff smiles. I want to capture you on your happiest day,  laughing, crying, dancing, sneaking a quiet look at each other.
  • I’m experienced in Kent’s best venues, I know Kent’s wedding landscape inside out.
  • A relaxed, personal approach, I get to know you before the day so there’s no awkward “who’s this bloke with a camera asking me to smile” feeling.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a Kent wedding photographer cost?

Every wedding is different, so I offer bespoke quotes tailored to your day’s length and requirements. Head to my pricing page for full details, or get in touch and I’ll put something together for you.

How far in advance should I book a wedding photographer in Kent?

I’d recommend booking at least 12–18 months in advance, especially if you’re planning a summer wedding in peak season (May–September) fills up fast. That said, it’s always worth getting in touch even if your date is closer as I do occasionally have last-minute availability.

What is your photography style?

I shoot in a documentary, reportage style  meaning I focus on capturing real, candid moments as they unfold throughout your day. I mix this with some light, relaxed direction for portraits so you still get beautiful couple shots without it feeling forced or awkward.

How will we receive our pictures?

. Every photo is individually edited and delivered via a private online gallery, which you can download and share with family and friends.

Do you travel for weddings outside of Kent?

Absolutely! I regularly shoot in London and across the UK, and I’m available for destination weddings internationally. Travel costs may apply depending on location just ask when you enquire.

Will you visit our venue before the wedding?

For most local Kent venues I’m already familiar with the location, for venues further afield or venues I haven’t visited before, I’m happy to arrange a site visit. I also offer an engagement/pre-wedding shoot which is a great way for us to get comfortable working together before the big day.

What happens if you’re ill on our wedding day?

This is every couple’s nightmare and rightly so! I have a network of trusted, professional photographers I work with, so in the extremely unlikely event I couldn’t make it, I would source a replacement of equivalent experience and style, your wedding would still be covered.

Do you offer engagement shoots?

Yes! I’d highly recommend one. It’s a great chance for us to get to know each other and for you to get comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day. It also results in some beautiful natural photos that make brilliant Save the Date cards or framing for the home.
