This  was my first time photographing in Sussex and at this beautiful wedding venue at Brickwall House in Northiam, East Sussex. This is a venue where you hire the whole venue out exclusively and get to put your own stamp on the day. For Katie & Ed’s Brickwall house wedding, this was exactly what they did! The house and gardens are beautiful and offer the most beautiful backdrop and venue for your wedding day. To help them plan their day they had enlisted the services of Nova wedding planners.

One of the great things about this venue is that its dog friendly too! So not only did Katie & Ed get to spend their day with family and friends, but also with their dog ‘Ricky’ as well! Seeing Brickwall House venue for the first time, my intial thoughts were Wow! A beautiful tudor manor country house with a long driveway up to the house. There is a private woodland glade to the side and beyond the house, beautiful extended gardens and lawns.

With it being a July wedding, Katie & Ed had decided to go for an outdoor wedding on the lawn and a marquee on one of the lawns for the wedding breakfast. Lots of diy touches enhanced their day with the flowers prepared and arranged in bouquets and jars by Katie’s friends. For relaxing they had deckchairs on the lawn and for entertainment a jazz band that Ed plays in. Ed even got up to do a few numbers on the day as well with the band. With Ricky their dog an ever present companion on the day, it was no surprise he accompanied us for some portraits in the woodland glade.

Both Katie & Ed looked amazing on the day, and an extra special touch to the day was Katie’s dress. This dress fitted her elegant frame perfectly and was made by her very talented Mum! Everyone was smiling and laughing all day in what was essentially one big celebration and garden party! A lot of work had gone into this day by the venue, Katie& Ed and their friends and Nova wedding planners. It really paid off as everything looked great and the day just flowed.
