Sandwich Wedding

"Our wedding photos are just absolutely gorgeous! Neither of us are particularly photogenic, and yet Colin made us feel so at ease and natural. Our photos have brought our wedding day back to life and really captured the personalities of us and our guests. During my wedding research, one piece of advice was that you should be able to forget that your photographer is there, and I am still convinced that Colin is able to teleport!"

Elisabeth & Reuben knew of me through the church we both go to and booked me a good 18 months before their wedding, so this was one I had been looking forward to for a while! I was there to cover the ceremony and the reception for them. The ceremony was held in Canterbury at St Dunstan’s Church. It was a bright but cloudy day and the weather stayed dry for us! The church service was beautiful and worship was led by two of their friends which added a lovely personal touch to proceedings. Elisabeth arrived, looking stunning in her wedding dress from mollydollys bridal boutique, while Reuben was waiting at the top of the aisle with a permanent big grin on his face!

After the church service, it was on to their Sandwich wedding reception, which was about 30 minutes away. This was held in a former church and which is now known as St Mary’s Art Centre. This is a beautiful airy building which made a fabulous backdrop for the reception. It was decorated beautifully and with long trestle tables for guests to sit at, while still leaving plenty of room for chatting and mingling. So much thought had gone into decorating the venue with lots of little personal touches here and there.

For the couple portraits we took to the beautiful streets surrounding the venue in Sandwich. With narrow lanes and character houses, it made for a lovely backdrop for some portraits. Later in the evening we also ventured out to the nearby park which had the most beautiful willow tree and did some more portraits here. The whole day was chilled and relaxed and it was a lovely way to finish off my 2021 wedding season. If you are thinking of having a Sandwich wedding, then please do get in touch. I would love to hear from you!
