The Departure Lounge, Alton, Hampshire

"Colin, what can we say! The photographs are truly amazing, we're getting so many compliments off our friends and family. You captured the day perfectly. Which is great as it's all a blur for both of us now. We can definitely relive our wedding day when we look at our photos. Thank you so so much!

Megan & Douglas

A beautiful old church for the wedding ceremony in Blackmoor, Liss and then a festival styled reception in the beautiful Hampshire countryside in Alton. I loved the contrast that this wedding day had! The church was tucked away in the Hampshire countryside in the village of Blackmoor in Liss. This is where my coverage of the day began. Megan & Douglas’s wedding car for the day was a beautiful blue Ford Mustang GT. It was in this that Megan and her dad arrived, making a very cool entrance to her wedding day!

Megan arriving looking stunning in her dress from bleubridalgowns. The ceremony itself was attended by close family and friends and was a lovely intimate service. Megan and Douglas only wanted a few portrait shots on the day, and these outside the church. The emphasis was on documenting their day with family and friends and them spending lots of time with them.

        The Departure Lounge Cafe

From the church it was on to the reception at the fabulous Departure lounge cafe in Alton. This venue has a large field attached for you to truly put your own stamp on the day and be as creative as you want to be. Megan and Douglas had hired a big marquee tent, with the areas outside this filled with hay bales and blankets. For entertainment there were a few outdoor games around to play as well, such as mini putting for golf and a coconut shy. Around the outside, caterers were set up selling wood fired pizza’s and burgers. Drinks were available to buy from inside the cafe itself, which also is a beautiful useable space.

Music was provided by a live band called Hair of The Dog as well as a super cool Volkswagen DJ rig called ‘Slippers the Split’. The whole day and night was relaxed and fun and a pleasure to photograph!  If you are looking for a quirky, cool Hampshire venue with plenty of space to put your own twist on things the this might be the venue for you.
