I was excited to meet up and chat with Emily and Laura about their wedding plans for their big day at the Night Yard wedding venue. It was a venue I had been wanting to photograph at for a while. We met up over beers at a pub local to me and talked through their day. What was lovely was seeing how important their Christian faith was to both of them and that this would be recognised through an additional blessing in the evening with their pastors from their church.

The venue sits nestled in woodland and surrounding fruit orchards and has the option for ceremonies inside its brick walled venue in the grass courtyard area, under the eaves or inside the beautiful canopied glasshouse. On this day it was all set up for an outdoor wedding on the lawn on what was a beautiful and mild September day.

Emily and Laura had mentioned, like a lot of my couples, that they were not great in front of the camera. This has never been a cause for concern for me as I chat and get to know my couples before and on the day. This makes the portrait sessions very relaxed and natural as I offer just minimal guidance on posing and naturally document my couples spending time together. The whole day was relaxed and so much fun with ice cream from the ice cream van to marshmallows cooked on a firepit and laughter and fun on the dance floor.
